Siemons Takes Over as Port of Rotterdam CEO

Boudewijn Siemons has been elevated from interim to full time CEO at the Port of Rotterdam Authority, effective February 1, 2024.Siemons, who was previously the port's COO, has been leading the Europe's top seaport on an interim basis after Allard Castelein stepped down as CEO last summer.The shareholders of the Port Authority, the municipality of Rotterdam and the Dutch national government appointed Siemons for the next four years at the recommendation of the Supervisory Board.Koos Timmermans, the chair of the Supervisory Board, said, “This appointment means that the Port Authority will

Port of Rotterdam Names Siemons Interim CEO

Boudewijn Siemons will become interim CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority effective July 15, 2023, taking the reins from Allard Castelein, who is stepping down as CEO this summer after nearly a decade in the position.Siemons, who currently serves as the port's COO, will combine both positions until a new CEO has been appointed.In addition, Vivienne de Leeuw will stay on as CFO. SOHAR Port Names Hoogsteden CEO

SOHAR Port and Freezone announced the appointment of Emile Hoogsteden as the new chief executive officer of SOHAR Port, a joint venture of the Port of Rotterdam Authority and ASYAD Group.Hoogsteden succeeds Mark Geilenkirchen effective July 1, 2022.Located in northern Oman, SOHAR is one of the fastest-growing Port and Freezone complexes in the world, capable of welcoming the world’s largest container vessels. Port of Rotterdam Appoints Matthijs as Logistics Manager

 Matthijs van Doorn has been appointed as the Port of Rotterdam Authority’s Logistics Manager as of 1 September 2016. Van Doorn joined the Port Authority team over a year ago as Business Manager Forwarding.    His ambitions are in line with the Port Authority’s plan to develop the port of Rotterdam into Europe’s foremost logistics hub. New Industrial Director at Port of Rotterdam

Yvonne van der Laan will commence her duties as Director of Process Industry & Bulk Goods at the Port of Rotterdam Authority starting February 1, 2016.    Van der Laan will succeed Bas Hennissen, who left in 2015. She brings to the role more than 20 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, the last 12 years in various management positions.   Van der Laan began her career in 1995 at DSM Specialty Intermediates. As of 2000, she served in various positions for SABIC at the business units Hydrocarbons, Chemicals & Intermediates and PolyPropylenes, in that order.

Maes Joins Port of Rotterdam Supervisory Board
