Rendall Joins The Shearer Group
Naval architect Ryan Rendall has joined the naval architecture, marine engineering and marine surveying firm The Shearer Group, Inc. (TSGI). Prior to joining TSGI, Rendall worked for Metal Shark Boats as a naval architect and marine engineer. He received a B.S. in Marine Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers and the Marine Technology Society.
MTS Executive Director Steps Down
Richard Lawson, Executive Director of the Marine Technology Society (MTS), has stepped down to pursue other professional opportunities, MTS’ Board of Directors announced today. Lawson has served as MTS Executive Director since December of 2007. He steps down effective today. In the coming weeks, the MTS Board of Directors will develop a formal search process for a new executive director, as well as a restructuring of job responsibilities to better utilize the talents of the remainder of the MTS staff. Werner Named Academic Dean of Webb Institute
Werner has taught a variety of courses and has been an advisor to many senior theses. Outside the classroom, Professor Werner has been a member of the Faculty Honor Committee and the advisor to the student sections of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) and the Marine Technology Society. Professor Werner served as the faculty representative to Webb’s Board of Trustees for four years, coordinated Webb’s ABET accreditation, and helped to establish a distance learning center at Webb.
