Gerard de Reuver has elected to step down as President of DSM Dyneema on August 1, 2015 after five years in the post, the company announced today. He will be succeeded by Golnar Motahari Pour, a German national with extensive global management experience.
The transition will begin immediately, and be completed by the end of next month. As of August 1, 2015, Gerard will take on a new role in a corporate culture project, reporting to Dimitri de Vreeze, member of the DSM Managing Board.
Gerard, a Dutch national, joined DSM in 2002 as Business Unit Director for Anti-Infectives. He later was named President of that unit, and Vice President of Crisis & Change. In March 2010 he accepted his current position. He saw the firm through its past five-year strategic business plan period, and played a key role in developing and strengthening the DSM Dyneema organization.
Golnar, meanwhile, is already familiar with DSM Dyneema, having been engaged with the company in the last couple of months, as an independent business strategy and operations consultant. She is well versed in materials sciences. From 1993 to 2007 she held several management positions at General Electric Corp. in the Plastics, Silicones and Consumer Products businesses. Prior to joining DSM, Golnar was a member of the European Executive Committee responsible for Emerald Kalama Chemical’s plasticizer business in Europe and the Middle East.
She has vast international business experience in the chemical industry, having lived and worked in the Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, Hungary, France and Germany. Golnar holds a Master of Arts degree & Postgraduate Studies in Ecology from the Applied Sciences Faculty of the University of Brussels.
