The U.S. Census Bureau announced the selection of Dale Kelly as the new Foreign Trade Division (FTD) Chief.

Kelly is responsible for directing the plans and programs that provide the infrastructure for producing the monthly U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services (FT-900) Report, facilitating the implementation of security policy and providing data management support to other Economic Directorate programs.

Dale has served the federal government for more than 28 years at the U.S. Census Bureau, working in the demographic, decennial, and economic directorates. In her previous FTD role, she was responsible for the development and maintenance of the regulatory requirements mandating the collection of electronic export information via the Automated Export System (including AESDirect). She has worked on surveys that collect statistical information on U.S. consumers' spending habits, the Decennial and Economic Censuses, as well as other monthly, quarterly, and annual surveys that measure the U.S. economy and population.

Dale is a recipient of the Stanley Schechter Award for her contributions to the diamond industry as a representative of the Census Bureau’s role in the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. She has received Gold and Silver Medal Awards for distinguished service in the federal government.

Nick Orsini, former Chief of the FTD, has accepted a new position in the Census Bureau as the Chief of the Manufacturing and Construction Division (MCD) after 26 years of service in FTD.
