New Round of Layoffs at Maersk Drilling

. "To adapt the cost structure to the new business environment, Maersk Drilling has taken precautionary measures, including stacking of rigs and revised maintenance programs. The impact of these measures is included in the revised guidance," Maersk Drilling said.As previously reported, Tullow Oil in March sent an early termination notice for Maersk Drilling's Maersk Venturer drillship in Ghana. The Maersk Venturer drillship has worked for Tullow offshore Ghana since February 2018, with an expected end of the contract in February 2022. The rig is now expected to end the contract in June

Oil and gas company Neptune Energy has informed that Alexandra Thomas has joined the company as UK Managing Director, based in Aberdeen.Thomas joins Neptune from Tullow Oil plc, where she most recently held the position of Head of Exploration, Development, and Commercial for Ghana.She has 18 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector, starting her career with assignments in both Shell and Equinor before joining Tullow as a result of its acquisition of the Vattenfall assets in 2011.She has held a number of senior leadership roles in the UK, Netherlands, Norway and, most recently, in Ghana where

 Tullow Oil plc (Tullow) announced the appointment of Dorothy Thompson as independent non-executive Director and Chair-designate of Tullow with effect from the conclusion of the Group’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 25 April 2018. Tullow Oil plc Chief Financial Officer Ian Springett will take an extended leave of absence from the company in order to undergo treatment for a medical condition.   Les Wood, Vice President Finance and Commercial, has been appointed Interim CFO.

Ghanaian Students Benefitting from Scholarship Programs

Robert Gordon University (RGU) postgraduate students are reaping the benefits of international scholarship schemes which will boost their career prospects. Ghanaians Justice Ngoah (27) and Eugene Yeboah (29) have joined RGU for a years’ scholarship program, funded by the Ministry of Energy and Tullow Oil plc.
