On June 18, 2024, the Broward County Commission confirmed the County Administrator's appointment of Joseph Morris as Port Director of Broward County's Port Everglades Department.Morris currently serves as the Port Director for the Massachusetts Port Authority where he has worked for four years, originally as Deputy Port Director of Operations.At Port Everglades, Morris will oversee the seaport's maritime business. Jonathan Daniels to Lead Port of Baltimore

Maryland Transportation Secretary Paul J. Wiedefeld has announced Jonathan Daniels as the new executive director of the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Maryland Port Administration. Seafarers’ House Launches $4.5m Campaign

Seafarers’ House at Port Everglades has launched the public phase of its “Place of Welcome” Campaign to build a new home for the mariners who visit the port.  The announcement was made at its annual Golden Compass Gala on May 19, honoring President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International Michael Bayley, who announced that the cruise line is committing $500,000 to the campaign.   The three-year, $4.5 million fundraising effort will allow Seafarers’ House to build a new facility, as well as provide a way to sustain the operations of programs and services offered to
