Kraken Adds Offshore Exec Sam Allen as Advisor

Kraken Robotics announced that it has hired longtime offshore industry executive Sam Allen as a strategic advisor to help the marine technology company refine its strategy for the international offshore energy market.Allen was President of Technip Canada from 1997 to 2012 and headed up Technip Oceania from 2012 until he retired from Technip in 2018.At Kraken, he will focus on landing additional pilot projects and converting pilot projects to longer-term recurring revenue contracts, the company said, adding this may include collaboration with additional industry partners as well as M&A activity

Liebherr Bolsters Its Australia Maritime Business

Liebherr Maritime said it will establish full service, spares and sales activities in Australia, New Zealand and the Oceania region to create better support for maritime customers using factory trained and locally recruited engineers. Additionally, Liebherr representative Morrow Equipment Australia will focus on the purchase and rental of tower cranes in the future.   Liebherr has been present in Australia since the early ’70s, leasing its first premises in Kilkenny in 1983. Ferguson Names Groombridge APAC Manager

Ferguson, specialist provider of DNV certified containers, tanks, refrigeration, accommodation and workspace modules to the offshore energy industry, has appointed Sonnie Groombridge to the new role of APAC Business Unit Manager. Based in Perth Australia, Groombridge joined the business in 2011 as the Australian Operations Manager and was then appointed to the position of Australian Business Unit Manager in 2013. In his new role he will be responsible for the company’s activities in the Asia Pacific region, spanning East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania.

Norwegian Cruise Line, Port of Seattle Ink 15-year Lease

Cruise contract is port’s largest ever, cruise line homeports at Seattle's Pier 66 for 15 years   The Port of Seattle signed a 15-year lease with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) parent company of Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The deal secures NCLH ships in Seattle for the full term of the lease and provides passenger volume guarantees estimated to bring $73 million dollars of revenue to the port.   “We thank Norwegian Cruise Line for their commitment to Seattle and the Alaska cruise business,” said Commissioner John Creighton.
