Two Williams-Mystic Maritime Studies Program students have been awarded scholarships by Crowley Maritime Corporation. Molly Tucker and Colby Weik were each chosen for their academic excellence, high morale and community involvement. Crowley Honored for Puerto Rico Relief Efforts

Four U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) cadets were awarded with 2017 Thomas B. Crowley Memorial Scholarships during yesterday’s Containerization and Intermodal Institute’s Connie Awards luncheon in Newark, N.J.   Jenny Terpenning, supervisor, marine recruiting at Crowley Maritime Corporation, presented the scholarships to Midshipmen (MIDN) Joshua Cann, Vincent Policastro, Rebecca Snyder and Benjamin Starr while also formally recognizing 2016 recipient Chandler Chiappe, all of whom were chosen based on their academic performance, financial need and interest in pursuing a career

Crowley Awards USMMA Midshipman Pisarski

Crowley Maritime Corporation recently presented U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Midshipman Sara Pisarski with the company’s Maritime Security Enhancement Award. The Maritime Security Enhancement Award, established in 2003, gives a one-time, $500 award to a USMMA student who demonstrates a strong interest in a port, maritime or transportation security career and who achieves the highest grade in the academy’s transportation security class. Pisarski, a native of Bowling Green, Ohio, began attending USMMA in 2013 and graduated this year with a degree in maritime logistics and security.

Crowley Names Manzi Vice President of SSQE

Crowley Maritime Corporation has appointed Paul S. Manzi as the company’s new vice president of safety, security, quality and environmental stewardship (SSQE), effective July 1.   Manzi, who will be based in Jacksonville and report to Carl Fox, senior vice president, corporate services, succeeds Charlie Nalen, who is retiring after 36 years of service to Crowley.   Reporting to Manzi will be Daniel Smith and Ketra Anderson, who are both directors of SSQE based in Seattle.   Manzi joined Crowley last year as director of health and safety, and has more than 36 years of experienc
