Bruun Takes the Helm at KVH Industries

KVH Industries, Inc., announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Brent C. Bruun as President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board. Jackson to Direct Global Marketing at KVH

Elizabeth Jackson has joined KVH Industries, Inc. as chief marketing officer and senior vice president for strategy.   Jackson has worked at a variety of companies including Proctor & Gamble, Campbell Soup Company, Summer Infant, and HookLogic, a Bain Capital Ventures portfolio company in ad tech performance marketing. Most recently, Jackson was CMO at DOTS Technology Corp, an NEA portfolio company in health tech.   Jackson has a B.A. from Princeton University and an MBA from INSEAD in France.

KVH Promotes Bruun to COO

KVH Industries has  announced  that Brent Bruun, currently executive vice president of mobile broadband for the company, has been promoted to the newly created position of chief operating officer (COO).   In this position, Bruun will assume direct responsibility for KVH’s corporate development, as well as operational responsibility for mobile communications products and services for maritime and land markets. His purview as COO covers the customer lifecycle from sales and manufacturing through customer onboarding and on into long-term services, support, and customer retention.

Investment in Training Key to Handling Seafarer Shortage

The BIMCO/ICS Manpower Report released earlier this week indicates that there is a current shortfall of about 16,500 officers and a need for an additional 147,500 officers by 2025 to service the world merchant fleet. Videotel, an international provider of e-Learning maritime training programs and a company of KVH Industries, Inc., has appointed Joe Pitcher as its sales director to lead business development efforts and liaise with Videotel’s global network of agents and sales offices.   Previously, Pitcher was head of sales at V.Group Marine Services, providing a broad range of business support solutions to shipowners and shipmanagers as well as shipyards, oil and gas services and marine equipment suppliers. Seafarer social media site Crewtoo, part of KVH Industries, Inc., has published the results of its second Crewtoo Seafarers Happiness Index report detailing job satisfaction at sea.
