Vineyard Offshore Names Director of Labor, Workforce and Local Content
Vineyard Offshore announced Jennifer Cullen has been promoted to the position of Director of Labor, Workforce, and Local Content for all projects, including those in the three lease areas the company holds on the East and West Coasts. Cullen had previously overseen labor and workforce development for Vineyard Wind 1, which Vineyard Offshore has developed and is now constructing as a joint venture.
“In Vineyard Wind, Jen has become a national leader, making the nation’s first commercial-scale offshore wind development a model for working with labor unions and creating opportunities for local residents and businesses to join the offshore wind industry,” said Christian Scorzoni, Vice President and Head of External Affairs for Vineyard Offshore. “We are excited for her to expand her role as she leads the national buildout of projects in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, West Coast, and beyond. Maximizing the benefits of offshore wind in good jobs and business opportunities for the communities our projects touch is a priority for Vineyard Offshore and Jen has proven she is up to the task.”
In this capacity, Cullen will be leading national strategy building out of a labor relations, workforce development, and local content team for the company. As part of a growing External Affairs team, Jen will be involved in all aspects of corporate communications, government relations, and community outreach. She will also coordinate with Procurement and Development teams to ensure that economic opportunities are maximized in project communities and with project suppliers.
“I am excited to take on this expanded national role,” said Cullen. “Over the past five years, we have learned a lot about developing a qualified, local, union workforce and bringing local businesses into the offshore wind supply chain. I look forward to delivering the economic benefits of offshore wind development to new communities on both coasts.”
Jen has been Director, Labor Relations and Workforce Development, implementing workforce development programs to ensure a locally trained and qualified workforce and domestic supply chain for Vineyard Wind 1. She will be transitioning off the Vineyard Wind 1 project this fall, with her responsibilities taken over by Labor Relations Manager Dan Kent. Previously, she spent over 10 years in the nonprofit sector, advocating for policies to promote clean energy and clean water in communities throughout the U.S.
Jen Cullen holds a dual bachelor’s degree in political science and French from the University of Vermont and a master’s degree in communications from Boston University.
