Woods Hole Group is seeking candidates for two new positions in the Coastal Group.

Woods Hole Group is seeking candidates for two new positions in the Coastal Group. We have an immediate opening for a Coastal Modeler/Engineer, and we also are seeking applications for a strategic career growth position as a Coastal Engineer/Project Manager in our Falmouth, Massachusetts office.

Coastal Modeler/Engineer Position: Selected candidates will be project-oriented member of Coastal Sciences, Engineering & Planning Team, focused on climate change planning, wetland restoration, and shore protection investigations. Duties may include: Coastal, oceanographic, and environmental processes analyses; Numerical model applications (Ocean-scale circulation and storm surge; Estuary & wetland hydrodynamics; Waves, sediment transport and shoreline/beach profile change; Contaminant transport and fate; and Water quality); Field data collection and analysis; Coastal engineering design support for shore protection structures, beach nourishment, habitat restoration and climate change adaptations; Report writing; Project management and proposal support.

Qualifications/Characteristics required for consideration: Masters Degree in related scientific or engineering discipline; Strong computing skills, including numerical modeling and coding experience; ADCIRC experience, including model grid development; Demonstrated writing and verbal communication skills in English; Self-starter and quick learner with ability to multitask and prioritize; and Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Coastal Engineer/Project Manager Position: Selected candidates will be client-oriented member of Coastal Sciences, Engineering & Planning Team, focused on delivering high quality, on-time, and cost-effective work products. Need to be experienced interfacing directly with clients, leading technical project teams, and helping develop new business opportunities. Duties include: Technical leadership and contributions to projects in the coastal zone involving (Beach nourishment, Habitat restoration, Climate change planning, Shore protection structures); Report writing and review; Coastal Engineering design; Project management; Client relationships; and Business development and proposal writing. Qualifications/Characteristics required for consideration: Masters Degree in related scientific or engineering discipline; P.E. preferred; Strong technical background in Coastal Engineering or related applied science; Experience with numerical modeling for coastal engineering applications; High quality standards and expectations for work products; Strong writing and verbal communication skills in English; Innovative self-starter with ability to multitask and prioritize; and Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
