Seaspan Names Hale Chief Administrative Officer

 Seaspan ULC (Seaspan) has appointed Brent Hale as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). 

 
Brent joined Seaspan in June 2015 as Vice President - Human Resources (HR). In this capacity Brent led the strategic reorganization of HR at Seaspan - implementing new HR and Labor Relations initiatives that facilitated rapid growth across the enterprise while significantly improving quality and efficiency. 
 
In his new role as CAO, Brent is accountable for leading Seaspan’s Corporate Shared Services, while continuing to be a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Seaspan’s Shared Services consist of all central corporate support services, including Business Services & Technology, Human Resources, Finance & Accounting, Procurement, Risk Management & Facilities, Health, Safety, Environment and Quality, as well as Corporate Communications.
 
Brent came to Seaspan from the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), where he served as Director, Strategic HR and Governance. In that role, he drove executive and senior level cultural transformation toward corporate stewardship, higher performance, and business minded decision making with a focus on operating cost reductions.
 
Brent completed a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia in 1994. In 1996, he obtained a Master of Industrial Relations from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and in 2004 he graduated from an Executive Leadership Program at Simon Fraser University.
