Lumitec Names New VP of Engineering
Lumitec, an engineering firm solely focused on the development and manufacture of extreme environment LED lighting, has announced the appointment of Chris Long as VP of Engineering of their R&D/manufacturing headquarters in Delray Beach.
Chris brings to the role more than 25 years’ experience leading engineering teams and partners in the design of technology-focused electrical and electromechanical products.
Long has held senior and executive level positions at various consumer electronics and vehicle component companies, managing all aspects of product development, strategy and sourcing. The majority of Chris’ career has been with Motorola, Inc. in the Paging and Mobile Phone Divisions. There he led global R&D teams in the design and launch of several industry-changing mobile phone products. He has a BSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University, an MBA from Florida International University (FIU), is a licensed Professional Engineer, and holds 6 US Patents.

In his new position, Chris Long will oversee Lumitec’s 12-person engineering team. He will work closely with the President and existing Operations and Engineering staff to continue to drive product innovation and ensure quality as the company pursues its goal “…to deliver exceptional value to customers.”
