Lee Named Partner at Holland & Knight

Eric Lee has been elevated to partnership in Holland & Knight’s Washington, D.C., office. 
 
Lee brings extensive experience in domestic and international shipping, supply chain services and logistics, as well as in a broad range of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters to bolster the firm's international trade, maritime, transportation and energy groups. 
 
As a member of the international team, Lee helps companies in the supply chain, logistics and other transportation services industries, including maritime, air, road and rail. He also represents industrial shippers, including e-commerce, manufacturers and processors, commodities, mining and large retail firms, as well as new and emerging market entrants with their supply chain, logistics, and transportation matters.
 
Lee has experience serving as in-house counsel in both the government and the private sector. As an government attorney, he served as counsel to a Commissioner at the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) and worked as a member of the FMC's Office of the General Counsel. In the private sector, he was an in-house attorney for one of the largest vessel owners and operators and supply chain service providers in the industry. He is well-versed in assisting clients with direct, third-party and fourth-party transportation logistics, distribution and supply chain projects and transactions.
 
Lee negotiates and drafts commercial agreements, including service contracts, operating agreements, corporate and asset acquisitions, asset reallocation and transfers, and related corporate and commercial transactions. He also helps clients conduct a wide range of corporate activities, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, associations, corporate governance and board meetings. In addition, Lee advises clients regarding various regulatory and related issues and solves problems that do not fit within a clearly defined practice or apparent method.
 
Prior to beginning the practice of law, Lee served as a soldier in the U.S. Army and subsequently as a middle and high school teacher. He received his LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, his LL.M. in admiralty from Tulane University Law School, his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his B.S. from The Citadel.
