Nearly three years after the launch of Glander International Bunkering’s Training Academy, the firm has announced the promotion of two more successful interns; Kevin Lundgaard and Manos Gryllakis.

Both interns were initiated into the program in November 2015 and after superseding the internship’s expectations, they have been working as qualified Bunker & Lubricant Traders.

Taking part in Glander International Bunkering’s internship is a demanding task, but one that paves the way for a promising career as a commercial trader. The program is structured in a way that draws on theory and practical based learning whilst simultaneously training them in the core skills required to be a commercial trader. Furthermore, each intern is guided through the program by a mentor who is still trading for Glander International Bunkering – giving the internship a competitive edge compared to others in the industry.

Kevin Lundgaard, Bunker & Lubricant Trader, Dubai, prides himself on his commitment to his clients and is recognised in the industry for his ability to understand situations from their perspective. Making reference to the skills that he learnt from the Training Academy, which are now being put to the test as a fully qualified Bunker & Lubricant Trader, Kevin comments: “The quality of the program’s mentors really heightened my learning experience. The mentors are experienced traders who are still trading at the time of teaching, therefore their knowledge and tips are as current and as relevant as could be.”

Manos Gryllakis, Bunker & Lubricant Trader, Dubai, primarily focusses his services in and around the Mediterranean ports, as well as smaller UAE/AG ports. When representing his clients, he is highly competitive, ensuring their bespoke needs are at the forefront of all operations. Manos respectively gives thanks to the Training Academy for this, noting: “In order to qualify for the Training Academy you must be results-driven and determined. Throughout the program these skills are only reinforced through vigorous task orientated projects – it really is the best initiation into life as a commercial trader.”
