Less than two months after the merger of Glander International Bunkering and Scandinavian Bunkering AS, the newly established Glander International Bunkering (Norway) AS has expanded locally, opening an office in Oslo. As part of the group’s ongoing European growth strategy, November 16, 2016 will mark the opening of the group’s second Norwegian office under the name Glander International Bunkering (Norway) AS. Newly appointed Andreas Maierhofer will run operations in Oslo as General Manager, and brings with him a diversified and international shipping background scaling more than 10 years.

As Oslo is a hub of Norwegian shipping and a center for maritime trade in Europe, the opening of Glander International Bunkering’s second Norwegian office there is its natural next step and gives them access to new market segments in the shipping industry, the group said.

The Glander International Bunkering group said it will capitalize on Maierhofer’s varied professional accomplishments, in order to bring a universal and well-rounded perspective to the Oslo office. Andreas was previously employed by another industry player working most recently as Trading Manager in its Scandinavian office. Prior to this he held varying roles within the shipping industry, including Project Broker and Commercial Director. His diverse industry awareness is further complemented by his cultural adaptability and impressive language skills. As a result of the many countries he has lived in, including but not limited to; Canada, Norway, Germany, U.K., Hong Kong, Spain and Dubai, Andreas is fluent in English, Norwegian and German.
