Free Event Examines Ocean Career Opportunities

Posted by March 17, 2015

Ocean Careers is a three-day event running alongside Ocean Business on April 14-16, 2015 at the National Oceanography Center in Southampton, U.K. to provide career information within the ocean technology, marine science and offshore industry sectors.

Graduates and students studying engineering, science or mathematics, as well as students that have already opted to study marine related subjects, can learn more about the global career opportunities on offer in the industry.

In recent years, the industry has seen continued growth and rapid development of technologies applied to ocean technologies and research. Ocean Careers will help students realize how skills can be utilized and gain an understanding of what employers are looking for.

The event is made up of a combination of inspiring industry presentations from professionals in the industry and a series of one-on-one speedy meetings. The meetings are on a first come, first served basis and provide industry experts and potential employees with the opportunity to meet face to face.

Ocean Careers is free to attend and runs alongside Ocean Business, the hands-on ocean technology exhibition and training forum. Ocean Business boasts an exhibition of more than 300 companies, bringing the world’s leading manufacturers and service providers in the industry under one roof. Students and other attendees also get the unique chance to test-drive equipment and systems with over 180 hours of free training and demonstration sessions held on vessels at the dockside, in the test tank and in seminar rooms.
