InterAct, an Acteon company, announced that Harry Barnhum, P.G., has joined its team as a Principal Consultant and Regulatory Manager.
A licensed professional geologist, Barnum has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He has managed all aspects of oil field development, including reservoir analysis, drilling and facility optimization, waterflood and steamflood injection program design, property valuation, regulatory and safety compliance, training, mapping and field engineering. He has managed both onshore and offshore oil production facilities and has written and implemented spill response programs during his tenure. He has provided scientific and operational support to a local water purification and desalinization company that reclaims oilfield produced water and impacted groundwater. Barnhum has also completed environmental assessments and managed numerous remediation programs gaining regulatory site closure. He currently serves on the Board of the API California Coastal Chapter.
Barnum holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Geology from the State University of New York at Buffalo and started his career as an Exploration and Development Geologist at Chevron. He has held a variety of leadership and project management positions over the years, including Managing Director of an independent E&P company. Under Barnum’s leadership, the company was chosen for the State of California Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources Outstanding Field Facility & Maintenance Award four years in a row for exemplary oilfield, gas field, geothermal, and gas storage operations.
