On June 19, 2017 Dirk Balthasar took over the management of Thermamax Inc., succeeding Markus Pratz who took the decision to leave the U.S.-based company at the end of 2016. The 49 year old will report in to Ralf Grosshauser who, as a member of the Board of Directors, continues to be responsible for the future development of Thermamax Inc.

In his new position Dirk Balthasar will concentrate on expansion of production facilities in Aurora, Ill., in order to systematically increase local added value and vertical integration. Implementing this strategic target, together with all the related tasks, will be Balthasar’s challenge over the next few months. He will be actively supported in this by the parent company in Mannheim.

In the first six months of 2017 Thermamax, Inc. posted a 50 percent increase in business compared to the previous year.

Balthasar joins from MAN Diesel & Turbo SE, a company producing large diesel engines and turbomachinery for marine and stationary applications. He has held various positions with the worldwide organization based in Augsburg in Southern Germany, most recently as Vice President, Head of Turbocharger Sales & Promotion.
