2,545 Candidates Vie for 11 Positions at Maersk Drilling
Maersk Drilling reported 2,545 applicants for the 11 MITAS engineer positions available within the company in 2014.
The Maersk International Technology and Science Program, better known as MITAS, has helped Maersk Drilling attract bright new talents since 2006. The MITAS program is a full two year introduction programme made up by three eight-month rotations in different positions around the company and in Maersk Oil. In 2014, a record-breaking 2,545 applicants were interested in taking on the program.

This year’s 11 new MITAS engineers, which is the highest intake ever in Maersk Drilling, have already been selected, and they are ready to start their rotations on September 1, although the first engineer of the 2014 batch got a head start and started on November 1, 2013.
With the 2014 class just starting their rotations, the class of 2012 recently graduated, finishing off the program with an extensive business case assignment. All seven engineers have been offered a position within Maersk Drilling.
“Over the last two years I have not only gotten a very strong network in Maersk Drilling and Maersk Oil, but I also acquired 60 new MITAS friends. These strong connections are a great basis going forward. I learned a lot in the modules and also about myself. One of the highlights was definitely the third module in Berkeley, San Francisco, where we got absolutely world class lectures,” said Jeanne Mie Lønstrup, Mechanical Engineer, Maersk Drilling.
While the seven graduates are ready to take up their new positions in Maersk Drilling, the 11 future MITAS engineers are preparing for the exciting challenges to come.

Maersk Drilling is going through a rapid growth these years and I am excited to be part of it and the challenges that it will bring,” Kenneth Petersson, MITAS Engineer, Maersk Drilling, concluded.
