SeeByte Appoints Haworth as CEO
SeeByte, developer of smart software solutions for unmanned maritime systems, announced the appointment of Dr. Chris Haworth as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective August 2020.Haworth has been promoted from his position of Commercial Director to become CEO of the company. He succeeds Dr. Bob Black, who will retire as CEO after 10 years in the role. Black will remain on the board as a non-executive director and strategic adviser. At the same time, Dr. Scott Reed has been promoted from his position as Engineering Director to become SeeByte’s new Chief Technology
Sotzing Joins Sea Machines as Engineering Director
Sotzing as director of engineering. Sotzing will be responsible for the development and deployment of the company’s Sea Machines 300 technology system, as well as managing the engineering team. He reports to COO Jim Daly from the Boston office. Sotzing joins Sea Machines from SeeByte, where he served as an engineering manager supporting unmanned vehicle technologies in Boston. Prior to relocating to Boston, Sotzing held positions of increasing responsibility for nearly nine years at SeeByte in Edinburgh, Scotland, most recently serving as project manager for the Autonomous Inspection
Sonardyne Appoints Tena as Global Business Manager
company Sonardyne International Ltd. UK, has announced the appointment of Ioseba (Joe) Tena as its new Global Business Manager for Marine Robotic Systems. Tena joins Sonardyne with immediate effect and brings with him more than 20 years of experience working with marine robotic systems, most recently at SeeByte. Early in his career Tena worked with marine robots as a Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University. His PhD was completed in 2001 and focused on navigating Autonomous Underwater Vehicles using imaging sonars. The following year, Tena became part of the original team of SeeByte founders
