Mahajan Named Managing Director of CMA CGM India

French container shipping company CMA CGM Group said it has appointed Atit Mahajan as managing director for CMA CGM India, effective August 1.A qualified chartered accountant with 18 years' experience in strategy, finance and cost management roles, Mahajan was most recently Chief Financial Officer, CEVA Logistics India Pvt. Ltd and was previously Chief Operating Officer, LCL Logistix, both subsidiaries of the CMA CGM Group. In the past, Mahajan has also been part of the CMA CGM Group and was Chief Financial Officer of CMA CGM India from 2010 to 2015.CMA CGM started its operations in India in 1989

CMA CGM Appoints Casanova Deputy CFO

The CMA CGM Group announced the appointment of Olivier Casanova as Group Deputy Chief Financial Officer.He will also serve as CEVA Logistics’ Chief Financial Officer.Casanova is a graduate from HEC. He started his career in 1991 as an investment banker then became Managing Director at SG Warburg/UBS in Paris and London. He joined Thomson in 2002 where he held various positions, notably as CFO of the Displays & Components Division and then Deputy CFO of the Group before being appointed Head of Strategy and Marketing. Laaksonen Resigns as Containerships CEO

Containerships plc’s board of directors announced that its Chief Executive Officer, Kari-Pekka Laaksonen, has resigned. The board of directors of Containerships plc plans to meet tomorrow to discuss a successor.CMA CGM Group will propose to the board of directors to appoint Claude Lebel, current CEO of Mac Andrews Gmbh, the parent company of Containerships plc, as the new CEO of Containerships plc.Laaksonen will remain in his position until his replacement is effective.

New CEO at CMA CGM

Rodolphe Saadé is the new chief executive of container shipping line CMA CGM, taking over the role previously held by his 80-year-old father.   The top spot at CMA CGM Group has been passed from one generation to another. Jacques Saadé announced on his 80th birthday that his son Rodolphe Saadé would take over as the French shipping line’s next chief executive officer.   Jacques Saadé, who founded the company 1978, will remain chairman of the board of directors.   Previously executive officer, Rodolphe Saadé has been with CMA CGM since 1994.
