Bennington Expands to New Facilities Adding Elkhart Jobs

Bennington, a North American pontoon boat manufacturer, announced the immediate expansion of its operations in Elkhart County. This growth includes adding jobs and investing in new facilities.Bennington has secured the property and 43,485-square-foot Center Six One Five building at 2707 County Road 15, Elkhart, IN 46514. This investment allows the company to add manufacturing space and jobs to increase output. SAFE Boats International Promotes Hotz

Aluminum boat manufacturer SAFE Boats International (SBI) announced the promotion of John Hotz to Director of International Business Development for Caribbean, Latin America and Mexico, a region which currently operates more than 130 SBI vessels.   Hotz is a 30 year marine industry, business development veteran and is recognized worldwide as a subject matter expert on high speed maritime interdiction vessels, SAFE Boats said. Prior to joining SAFE Boats in 2009, Hotz led business development efforts for companies such as Boston Whaler and Donzi Marine.

Metal Shark’s New Yard Now Operational

Louisiana-based boat manufacturer Metal Shark announced it has commenced operations at its new shipyard, where the first of its recently announced Endurance-class catamarans is now in production. In January, Metal Shark acquired a 25-acre waterfront tract situated on the Charenton Bypass Canal in Franklin, Louisiana, and announced plans to develop the new property into a facility to support its planned aluminum and steel shipbuilding efforts for vessels up to 250’ in length.
