L-3 Marine Systems International (L-3 MSI) announced today the promotion of Armin Groth and Maik Stoevhase to managing directors of its L-3 SAM Electronics business. As managing directors, Groth and Stoevhase report to Ulrich Weinreuter, president of L-3 MSI.

Having worked in the maritime industry for more than 24 years, Groth joined L-3 SAM Electronics in 2006 as managing director of its STN Schiffselektrik subsidiary before he took over SAM’s Integrated Systems business in 2009. In addition to his new role as a managing director of L-3 SAM Electronics, Groth will maintain his responsibilities at the sector level as senior vice president of integrated systems for L-3 MSI.

Stoevhase has worked in the maritime industry for over 25 years. Joining L-3 SAM Electronics in 2004, he first led the division’s energy and drives business as senior vice president before being promoted to head L-3 MSI’s business development, sales coordination and corporate strategy activities. In his new position as managing director of L-3 SAM Electronics, he will continue in his sector role as senior vice president for L-3 MSI’s Automation, Navigation and Communication line of business.

“Armin and Maik are strategic leaders and in their new roles provide even greater strength to L-3 SAM Electronics’ management team,” said Ulrich Weinreuter, president of L-3 Marine Systems International. “Since joining L-3 SAM Electronics in 2004 and 2006, respectively, both Armin and Maik have been a significant part of the development of the company’s worldwide activities. I look forward to their continued contributions in leading L-3 SAM Electronics as a key partner to the global shipbuilding industry.”
