McDonald Promoted to EVP at Ingram Industries Inc.

Posted by June 10, 2014

Ingram Industries Inc. announced the promotion of Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Eleanor McDonald to Executive Vice President and General Counsel and Secretary, effective July 1.

Orrin H. Ingram, President and Chief Executive Officer, commended Ms. McDonald’s accomplishments during her tenure at Ingram and added, “Eleanor is the right person at the right time to lead our legal efforts at Ingram and has exhibited the type of tested, collegial leadership which will make her a valuable and integral part of the senior team.”

She joined Ingram in 2006 as Assistant General Counsel, and before that was in private law practice in Nashville concentrating in mergers and acquisitions, commercial finance transactions and general corporate matters.

Ms. McDonald received her juris doctor degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and earned her bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Ms. McDonald will succeed Bill Morelli, who will retire after 22 years with the company. Mr. Ingram thanked Mr. Morelli for his long service and extraordinary contributions to the Company and to the Ingram family. Mr. Ingram said, “Bill has provided exceptional legal counsel and trusted leadership during his tenure at Ingram.  While we will miss his presence on a daily basis, we’re pleased that he has agreed to serve in a new part-time role as Senior Advisor, where he will continue to be available to assist our family on a variety of matters.”

Mr. Morelli joined Ingram Barge Company in 1991 as General Counsel and progressed over the next several years in various executive positions at the Barge Company until he was named Vice President and General Counsel of the parent company, Ingram Industries Inc. in 1996. In 2003 he was named Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary.

Mr. Morelli received his college and law degrees from the University of Cincinnati and in 2010, was honored by the university’s College of Law with its Distinguished Alumni Award. He is a past President of the Tennessee Historical Society and currently on its Board of Directors.
