Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. announced the addition of a new service line, Global Technical Services (GTS), to broaden the array of services o¬ffered to its current and future clientele as well as support internal professional development, the company said in its April newsletter.
This service line will provide training for Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Technicians, Quality Assurance (QA) and Control Oversight and NDT Field Inspection Work. GTS classes will cover Ultrasonics, Mag Particle, X-Ray, Radiography, Dye Penetrant, Eddy Current, Radiation Safety, AWS CWI prep and others, offering professional training for both independent inspectors and inspection companies involved in the aviation, rail, nuclear and marine industries. Classes will also be available to Global employees at no cost.
Regularly scheduled GTS classes will take be held in Alaska, Seattle, Portland and the San Francisco Bay area, but custom classes will also be available, with the first being held for a railroad client in Winnipeg.
Overseeing GTS is Marty Anderson as the new NDT Training and Quality Manager. Anderson, the previous owner and lead instructor of Alaska Technical Training, brings to the position a background in NDT work and QA services, holding an array of certifications in a range of inspection specialties.
The company said it also expects to post opportunities for GTS trainer positions on the Global employment page.
