Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) has added three new marine engineers to its Gulf Coast office: Senior Naval Architect David Kaysen, Marine Engineer Trygve Reid and Marine Engineer Rex Sutherlin.

David Kaysen brings over 25 years of naval architecture experience to his position at EBDG. His technical and project management experience includes work with the U.S. Navy, USCG, NOAA and commercial ships. He earned a BS in engineering science from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Master of Science in ocean engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology.

Trygve Reid brings to his role nearly two decades' of experience in naval architecture and marine engineering, with expertise in structural design, vessel design and modification, stability analysis and production support engineering. Additionally, Reid is an expert in IT systems and computer software.

Rex Sutherlin has worked with commercial and military shipboard systems design. His areas of expertise include fire protection and fire detection systems, as well as auxiliary piping systems. Sutherlin also has experience with refurbishment of military hardware.

"The work we're doing and demand for our services led us to seek out team members who could complement the team and share our passion for innovation and customer service," Stated Keith Keller, Vice President and General Manager of EBDG's Gulf Coast Office. "David, Trygve and Rex are three high caliber individuals that will add a lot to the team as we work toward our goals for continued success in 2015."

Since reopening its Gulf Coast Office in 2012, EBDG's OSV work has attracted demand from clients across the U.S. and aboard. Some recent projects for the Gulf Coast office have included a unique specialty design oilfield vessel which was delivered in December 2014. The Gulf Coast office is also working on an upgrade to the station keeping of a deep water drillship, among other projects.
