Barone Named VP of Precision Drive Systems

 Precisions Drive Systems (PDS), a global provider of high-speed precision spindle motors, support and repair based in Bessemer City, N.C., announced that Bob Barone has been named vice president of the company.   Barone brings a wealth of experience to PDS, including owning and operating an architectural millwork company, as well as holding product management and sales positions with Michael Weinig, Biesse America and Benz. His experience in wood, plastic and engineered composite manufacturing applications will be brought to bear assisting PDS customers with all of their spindle needs

Oerlikon Opens Third Drive Systems Plant in India

Oerlikon’s Drive Systems Segment inaugurated its third plant at Sanand in Gujarat, India. (DSME) in South Korea to provide an electrical power and propulsion system for a Norwegian Defence Logistics Organization (NDLO) logistics and support vessel (LSV). Thrustmaster Announces Factory Expansion

Thrustmaster of Texas, a manufacturer of commercial marine propulsion products, signed a deal last week to expand its Houston-based production facility by 100,000 sqft (93,000 sq m).  The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has revealed the growing demand for marine driving licenses in the Emirate of Dubai as reflected by the high volume of applications for marine crews operating within local waters.    In response, the DMCA’s Maritime Traffic Management team ensures the Skippers’ Evaluation course being provided to Skippers with a one-hour briefing class on ‘Marine Knowledge for Boat Operation’ with a focus on deepening and enriching modern marine knowledge in managing operational processes before undergoing formal inspection.
