Odfjell Board Announces New CEO’s Start Date

Odfjell's new president and CEO Kristian Verner Mørch to start August 1, 2015    Kristian Verner Mørch will take up his new position as president and CEO of Odfjell SE from August 1, 2015, the company’s board of directors announced. Odfjell Names Mørch President, CEO

The board of directors of Odfjell SE has appointed Kristian Mørch as the company's new president and CEO. He will succeed current president and CEO Tore Jakobsen by November 1, 2015.   Mørch is a Danish citizen and presently holds the position as co-CEO of Clipper Group. He has previously been COO of Maersk Tankers, and has also held other management positions in A.P. Moller-Maersk. Odfjell SVP Olsen Steps Down

Norway based shipping and tank terminal company Odfjell SE said its Senior Vice President Helge Olsen will step down from his role as Head of Ship Management, effective January 9, 2017.   Olsen, who has been with the company since 2000, holds no Odfjell shares or options.   Harald Fotland, SVP Odfjell Tankers, has been appointed to temporarily cover the position as SVP Ship Management until Olsen’s successor is in place.

Fotland Named COO at Odfjell

Odfjell SE has appointed Harald Fotland as chief operations officer (COO), effective January 5, 2018.    The Norwegian tanker shipping firm said it is introducing a COO function to ensure full integration between ship management and commercial operations. “With the new structure, Odfjell Tankers will have common and aligned goals across all functions relating to chemical tankers,” the company said.   Fotland joined Odfjell as chief of staff in 2010, and in 2015 was appointed senior vice president of Odfjell Tankers. Odfjell Announces Personnel Reductions

In an announced effort to improve its financial results through a more competitive cost structure, Odfjell SE began a review of all aspects of its business model in May 2014 targeting organizational changes to increase competitiveness in the chemical tanker market.   The company’s board has today approved a restructuring plan which, fully implemented, is estimated to improve the net result by in excess of $100 million on a yearly basis within 2016. The cost-saving initiatives are related to operating expenses, general and administrative expenses, trade optimization and bunker consumption

New Head for Odfjell Tankers

Odfjell announced it has appointed Senior Vice President Harald Fotland to new Head of Odfjell Tankers. Fotland comes from the position as SVP/Chief of Staff and has for the past 18 months also been responsible for the cost-cutting and efficiency program in Odfjell. He succeeeds the shipper's previous head of tankers, Morten Nystad, who stepped down from his position in July.  The company also appointed Vice President Arild Viste to Global Head of Tanker Trading in Odfjell Tankers. Viste comes from the position as Vice President for Commercial Development.

New Chief of Staff at Odfjell

Øistein Jensen has been appointed as new Chief of Staff at Odfjell, commencing in his new position from February 29, 2016.   Jensen is a Norwegian citizen and presently holds the position as Director at PwC. He is a graduate of the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy and has among other positions served as submarine commander. He also holds an MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). Jensen brings to the position experience within organizational development, corporate compliance and project management.

NLRB Holds ILWU Guilty of Labor Law Violations

  For the second time in ten weeks, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has affirmed the decision of an administrative law judge that the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU International) and ILWU Local 8 (Local 8) violated federal labor law by engaging in coercive activity directed against ICTSI Oregon, Inc. at Terminal 6 at the Port of Portland.
