Beazley Appoints Moy as US Marine Underwriter

Specialist insurer Beazley has appointed John Moy as U.S. marine underwriter within its newly- launched U.S. marine platform.    Moy will report to Steve Vivian, head of U.S. marine at Beazley, and will be responsible for underwriting and building the company’s U.S. hull, protection & indemnity (P&I) and liability business for the marine and marine construction sectors. Markel International Appoints Kristiansson in Singapore

Markel International Singapore, the specialist insurer, has appointed Gustaf Kristiansson as marine underwriter based in Singapore.   Kristiansson joins the Singapore office from Markel International’s Sweden office where he held the same position. Prior to that, he was located in Dubai, UAE working for Gulf Agency Co., an international shipping logistics and marine services company. Kristiansson brings with him more than 10 years of shipping and marine insurance experience.    

XL Catlin Promotes Chief Underwriting Officer, Marine

as SVP, Chief Underwriting Officer, Inland Marine. She is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. where she earned a commission as a Naval Officer as well as an unlimited tonnage USCG Third Mates license. She is part of the Transportation Committee of the Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) and currently is Chair of IMUA’s New England Advisory Committee.  She also has served on the board of the American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU), and holds the Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM) designation. 

IMUA Awards Drewry Lifetime Achievement Award

James Drewry, Treaty/Program Property Underwriter at Munich Reinsurance America, Inc., as well as a former Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) Chairperson, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association at its 84th Annual Meeting. Drewry was one of three individuals recognized by the IMUA.  The others included John A. Fidelis Group Holdings, LLC (FGH), with its subsidiary Continental Underwriters, Ltd., has hired John Kirchhofer as Vice President of its Marine Division.   In this position, Kirchhofer will be responsible for expanding the group's brown water hull and primary marine liability geographical footprint, which will complement FGH's national inland marine and ocean cargo product lines, the company said.
