Maersk Supply Service Names Karstensen CEO

offshore services arm, Maersk Supply Service, with effect from October 24.   Karstensen comes from a position as Chief Procurement Officer and takes over from Jørn Madsen, who was recently appointed CEO of Maersk Drilling, effective November 7.   Karstensen joined the Maersk Group in 1986 and has had led a 30-year-career with the company in procurement, logistics, supply chain, in-house consultancy and other cross-functional areas. His previous role in Group Procurement included overseeing Maersk Maritime Technology, Maersk Oil Trading and Maersk Management Consulting.

Skou Replaces Andersen as Maersk CEO

Moller-Maersk has appointed Soren Skou, head of its container shipping unit Maersk Line, as new chief executive for the group replacing Nils Smedegaard Andersen who has been in the job since 2007. Soren Skou will remain as CEO of Maersk Line in addition to his position as CEO for the Maersk Group. Andersen will leave the group, Maersk said in a statement. Thygesen, currently Damco CEO for the Americas, has been appointed CEO of Svitzer with effect from September 1.   Thygesen, who joined Maersk Group in 1994, has been with the group for 22 years, of which the last nine with Damco.
