Volvo Penta of the Americas announced the appointment of Tony Kelleher as vice president for customer support and training.   Kelleher will be responsible to support both marine and industrial segments within the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.   Gazprom set up a new department to be headed by Pavel Krylov. The department will be in charge of implementing the Gazprom corporate unified technical policy in search, creation and introduction of state-of-the-art solutions, equipment and materials acknowledged worldwide, including substitutes of their non-domestic counterparts, with a view to secure the Company’s technological independence. Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee will supervise the new department.

Waterjet systems manufacturer Jet Edge, Inc. announced the promotion of Josh Bauer to service manager. Bauer is responsible for managing all aspects of Jet Edge’s waterjet service department, supporting customers worldwide.   A longtime Jet Edge employee, Bauer began his career with the Minnesota waterjet systems manufacturer in 2005 after graduating from Hennepin Technical College with a degree as a fluid power engineering technician. He has held positions in Jet Edge’s production and service departments, most recently serving as a field service technician.

Louisiana Shipbuilder Fined for Worker Retaliation

The U.S. Department of Justice has reached an agreement with a Louisiana shipbuilder resolving a complaint filed with the department’s Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices (OSC), claiming the company had retaliated against an individual for filing a discrimination charge with OSC.   A Justice Department said its investigation determined that North American Shipbuilding LLC, a division of Edison Chouest Offshore located in Larose, Louisiana, had retaliated against an employee for filing a charge with OSC by, among other things, barring him from the

Search on for Missing Diver in Shark River Inlet

The Coast Guard and local police are searching for a missing diver in the Shark River Inlet in the vicinity of Belmar, New Jersey. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay were notified by the Belmar Police department that a 17-year old free diver was reportedly missing in the Shark River Inlet at around 5 p.m. A Coast Guard 29-foot Response Boat-Small rescue crew was dispatched from Station Shark River and an HH-65 Dolphin helicopter rescue crew was dispatched from Air Station Atlantic City to aid in the search. Also searching are members of the Avon-By-The-Sea and Belmar Police
