Thermoplastic fluid flow technology company Asahi/America, Inc. has promoted Rodney Van to industrial business development manager for the eastern and central regions effective January 1, 2017.  Based out of North Carolina, Van will lead Asahi/America’s sales efforts of industrial single wall and double wall piping systems for chemical service. Van has been with Asahi/America for 27 years in various roles; most recently as district sales manager in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

AKD Recruits Two Senior Execs

AKD said it has strengthened its position in the shipping and offshore sectors with the arrival of two senior executives. Pieter den Haan, a specialist in handling maritime casualties, with particular expertise in major collision cases as well as in salvage and wreck removal and insurance disputes, joins from Van Traa as a partner in AKD’s Transport & Energy team with effect from 1 July, 2015. New Industrial Director at Port of Rotterdam

Yvonne van der Laan will commence her duties as Director of Process Industry & Bulk Goods at the Port of Rotterdam Authority starting February 1, 2016.    Van der Laan will succeed Bas Hennissen, who left in 2015. She brings to the role more than 20 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, the last 12 years in various management positions.   Van der Laan began her career in 1995 at DSM Specialty Intermediates. As of 2000, she served in various positions for SABIC at the business units Hydrocarbons, Chemicals & Intermediates and PolyPropylenes, in that order.

Alphatron Marine Appoints Regional Manager

Alphatron Marine announced it has appointed Erik van Boom as country manager for the Euro border region Scheldemonden.   With recent changes in Belgium, where Alphatron Marine has taken over the sales and service activities of maritime navigation and communication equipment of Astron NV, expansion in the region was required, the company said.    In his new role, van Boom will leverage more than 25 years of experience in the maritime navigation and communication sector to help support the growth of Alphatron Marine.

Port of Rotterdam Appoints Matthijs as Logistics Manager

 Matthijs van Doorn has been appointed as the Port of Rotterdam Authority’s Logistics Manager as of 1 September 2016. Van Doorn joined the Port Authority team over a year ago as Business Manager Forwarding.    His ambitions are in line with the Port Authority’s plan to develop the port of Rotterdam into Europe’s foremost logistics hub. SBM Offshore Nominates Wood as CFO

SBM Offshore has nominated D.H.M. Wood as a member of the management board and chief financial officer (CFO) to replace current CFO, P.M. van Rossum, who is set to retire.   The company will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on November 30, 2016 where it will be proposed that Wood be appointed as a member of the management board for a period of four years until the 2021 AGM.
