.  Before that he was Head of Global Customer Solutions at DHL since 2006.  He began his career at Royal Nedlloyd, the former Dutch shipping company, before joining Danzas, the Swiss logistics firm, which merged with DHL in 1999. Habben Jansen, who is a Dutch citizen, graduated from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 1991 with a degree in Economics.

Habben Jansen Takes over as Hapag-Lloyd CEO

AG's Executive Board as scheduled on June 30, as did COO Ulrich Kranich. The new COO is Anthony J. Firmin who joined the Executive Board today after 19 years at the company. Peter Ganz continues as CFO, a position he has held since April 2009. Habben Jansen graduated in Economics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 1991. In the same year, he embarked on his career as a trainee at the former Dutch shipping company Royal Nedlloyd. He held a number of different positions both there and at the Swiss logistics firm Danzas, before the latter merged with DHL, the subsidiary of Deutsche Post AG

JAXPORT Names McCague Interim CFO

Experienced financial executive Beth McCague has been tapped to serve at Interim Chief Financial Officer of the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT).McCague, who has been serving as an advisor to JAXPORT’s CEO and finance group, will assume responsibility for the port’s budget and accounting, treasury, payroll, procurement, economic forecasting/planning, and external auditing functions effective May 7, 2018. Mannering Named Polarcus Chairman

Michael Mannering has been nominated to succeed Polarcus’ outgoing chairman of the board, Peter Rigg, with effect from the 2018 AGM on May 10.Rigg will retire after a decade as chairman of the marine geophysical company, having served in the role since the company’s inception in 2008.Mannering has previously held many senior corporate positions in Schlumberger as well as chairman and, subsequently, non-executive director of Songa Offshore until its acquisition by Transocean. He has a BSc (First Class) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southampton.

Huntington Ingalls Industries said that Christie Thomas was promoted to vice president of contracts and pricing at its Newport News Shipbuilding division. Andhra Signs MoU with Russian Maritime Varsity

 The Indian state of Andhra Pradesh (AP) Andhra Pradesh will soon have a world class maritime university.   AP has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russia's State Marine Technical University to promote marine education and technology.   The agreement was signed at the port city of St. Petersburg on the first day of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's visit to Russia on Wednesday. Cal Maritime Ranks High for Graduate Earnings
