Trafigura Hires ex-Noble Crude Oil Trader

Trading house Trafigura has hired Dan Stirk, formerly a North Sea crude oil trader at commodity trader Noble Group, to join its crude desk, according to trading sources. Stirk started his new job this week, one of the sources said. He served as North Sea trader at Noble starting in July 2016, according to his LinkedIn page. WEC, MTL Partnership Saves 135 Engineering Jobs

 WEC Group has funded a partnership deal to acquire the business and certain assets of metal manufacturing specialist MTL Group out of administration, saving 135 jobs. The Administrators of MTL Group Limited chose the deal offered by WEC Group as the best option. It will allow the South Yorkshire company to move forward with WEC as a new force in the U.K.’s fabrication and engineering sector. Evac Group has appointed Claes Rudling as global Business Area President, Offshore and Merchant, effective January 23, 2017. Rudling will continue as CEO of Uson Marine, which was acquired by Evac Group in December 2016.   Rudling is a member of the Evac Group Management Team. He is based in Stockholm and reports to Tomi Gardemeister, President and CEO of Evac Group.   Evac Group is aprovider of integrated waste, wastewater, and water management systems for the marine, offshore and building industries.

 1,000 new seafarers register on first day of V.Group's new Manila Training Center   Maritime services provider V.Group, together with its third party ship management arm, V.Ships, are celebrating the inauguration of a new office and training center in Manila, Philippines.   The recently opened center is located in the Philippines’ Aseana City district.
