Academy (USMMA) cadets with Thomas B. Crowley Memorial Scholarships during  the Containerization and Intermodal Institute’s Connie Awards luncheon in Newark, N.J. Crowley’s Jenny Terpenning, supervisor, marine recruiting, presented the scholarships to Midshipmen (MIDN) Stacee Glass, Connor Sexton, John Terselic, Tanner Evans, Dylan Rabbitt, and Chandler Chiappe, all of whom were chosen based on their academic performance, financial need and interest in pursuing a career at sea after graduation.  - Glass, from Johnstown, Pa., is midshipman first class studying maritime logistics

CBMM Welcomes New Shipwright, Apprentices for Edna Lockwood Restoration

bugeye Edna E. Lockwood. Joining Rogers on the project are apprentices Spencer Sherwood of Newport Beach, Ca., Lauren Gaunt of Pleasant Ridge, Mi., and Michael Allen of Barrington, R.I. The two-year restoration project is being managed by CBMM Boatyard Manager Michael Gorman and Shipwright J. Maris (Joe) Connor, rounding off a dedicated team of shipwrights, apprentices, and volunteers.   CBMM’s professional shipwright apprentice program is underwritten through philanthropic support, and provides recent wooden boatbuilding school graduates on-the-job training through the restoration and maintenance

Six Washington Students Earn Maritime Scholarships

; PSM (Puget Sound Maritime) as well as the $500 Pacific Maritime Magazine Scholarship sponsored by RH Philips Publishing Group. Donald Lay from Cedarcrest High School in Duvall is planning to attend CMA in marine engineering received the $3,000 scholarship sponsored by Foss Maritime Company Connor Vincent from Stadium High School in Tacoma and  previously with the Tacoma SSS Odyssey, is also planning to attend CMA in mechanical engineering received the$1,500 scholarship sponsored by Compass Courses Maritime Training Christine Kimball from Kent attended Puget Sound Skill Center Marine
