Aquaterra Energy appointed Christian Berven as Business Development Director, as it strengthens its EMEA operations by opening offices in Stavanger, Norway. The company, headquartered in Norwich, UK, was the first to secure a multi-million pound investment from EV Private Equity, as part of its pledge last year to support fast-growing North Sea businesses. Aquaterra Names Hawkes Financial Director

Offshore engineering solutions provider Aquaterra Energy has appointed Nick Hawkes as Financial Director based at the company’s headquarters in Norwich.   Hawkes has more than four years’ experience in the oil and gas industry and joins Aquaterra having spent nearly 20 years with Babcock International Group where he latterly held the position as Financial Director for 15 years. Hawkes graduated from Bournemouth University in 1987 with a BA (Hons) Business Studies.   His appointment follows the announcement in July that Aquaterra Energy secured a multimillion pound investment

Vallourec Drilling Products Cuts Roughly 150 Jobs in Texas

Vallourec Drilling Products, a subsidiary of Paris, France-based steel pipe maker Vallourec , will lay off roughly 150 employees in Texas, according to a regulatory filing. Vallourec specializes in making tubular products for the energy and other industrial sectors. It has about 19,000 employees worldwide. The layoffs come as companies that supply equipment and services to the oilfield are still recovering from a three-year rout in oil prices. Norwegian energy storage company Plan B Energy Storage (PBES) announced Arnstein Andreassen has joined the firm to develop marine energy storage markets. Andreassen brings decades of experience in power generation and propulsion.   In his previous positions, both in Naval and commercial business, Andreassen worked with power generation and propulsion systems in the marine space. Andreassen comes to PBES from Bertel O. Steen Teknikk AS (Bostek), where he is responsible for sales of commercial marine generator sets.

 Eivind Aune has joined designed and manufacturer of industrial lithium-ion energy storage Plan B Energy Storage (PBES) in order to help further develop energy storage markets.   Aune brings to the role decades of experience in Norwegian business.
