PSA International sees profit jump 5.0%

* PSA International Pte Ltd (PSA) handled 74.24 million TEUs for the year ended 31 December 2017, representing an increase of 9.8% from the previous year. * PSA's flagship Singapore Terminals contributed 33.35 million TEUs, increasing 9.0% over 2016. PSA terminals outside Singapore delivered a total throughput of 40.89 million TEUs, increasing 10.4% over 2016. * PSA Group revenue rose 7.8% and profit from operations grew 5.0% compared to previous year. Overall net profit for the year was 5.1% higher at $1.23 billion. * PSA's balance sheet remains strong with a gross debt equity ratio of 0.

Preece Named Managing Director at CWind

Mark Preece has been appointed Managing Director of CWind, the Global Marine Group (GMG) offshore renewable business.   Preece, who has extensive experience in the offshore and maritime sectors, joined CWind on an interim basis late in 2017.    He has formerly served as Executive Vice Chairman at PDi Ltd, CEO of CEONA Offshore and CEO of Reef Subsea.  

BAE Systems Names Wolstenholme MD in the UK

Hardy Takes Over as Vitol CEO

Ian Taylor, who helped build Vitol into the world's biggest oil trader, will step down as chief executive and continue as chairman, the company said on Friday, naming a long-time ally and insider, Russell Hardy, as the new group CEO.   Taylor said two years ago he was battling cancer although he continued to travel the world, chasing deals from Africa to the United States and Australia while also working as chairman of the board of trustees for London's Royal Opera House.   Hardy, who started his career at BP and traded fuel oil, was long seen as one of two front-runners to succeed

Sweden's Vattenfall to Cut 1,500 Jobs

Sweden's state-owned utility Vattenfall said on Monday it would cut 1,500 full-time positions among its employees and consultants by 2020 as part of a long-running drive to boost competitiveness and profitability. The announced job cuts form part of a 2 billion Swedish crowns ($244.62 million) cost-savings programme that Vattenfall announced a year ago.
